Marilyn Meredith has been a professional writer for thirty plus years. She’s written for local newspapers and national magazines as well as a monthly newsletter for the residential care business in California
Her mysteries include the Deputy Crabtree series, DEADLY TRAIL, (an Eppie nominee), DEADLY OMEN, UNEQUALLY YOKED, INTERVENTION (a Bloody Dagger award nominee), WINGBEAT (best mystery for 2005 from American Authors Association), and from Mundania Press, CALLING THE DEAD, (best mystery for 2006 from AAA) and JUDGMENT FIRE, (2007 Golden Quill Award and an Eppie Finalist.) She borrows liberally from where she lives in the Southern Sierra foothills for the setting of the Tempe Crabtree books.
Her Rocky Bluff series is located in a fictional California coastal community; Tigress Press published FRINGE BENEFITS and THE SMELL OF DEATH. GUILT BY ASSOCIATION is a stand-alone situated in an old gold-country village on Highway 49 and won the publisher’s best mystery/suspense award. THE ASTRAL GIFT is a mystery with a touch of the supernatural. WISHING MAKES IT SO, psychological horror, was awarded Best Thriller of 2006 from the American Authors Association and Best Horror from US Book News.
KACHIMA SPIRIT is a ghost story and another Eppie nominee. THE CHOICE, DEEDS OF DARKNESS and CUP OF DEMONS are Christian horror.
An instructor for Writer’s Digest for ten years, she also serves as a judge for the Genre Fiction Category for Self-Published Books.
Marilyn is one of the founders of the San Joaquin chapter of Sisters in Crime, as well as a member of the L.A. and Central Coast chapters. She’s also a member of Mystery Writers of America, EPIC, California Writers Club, serves on the board of the Public Safety Writers’ Association, and has been a featured speaker and served on panels at mystery conferences, libraries and writers’ groups all over the country including the Maui Writers Retreat.
