Lillie Ammann always dreamed of writing “someday.” A devastating stroke made her realize she didn’t know how many “somedays” she had. As soon as she was physically able, she started writing. In 1996, she sold her interior landscape company to a large national corporation and started her new career as a freelance writer and editor. She has published two novels, Dream or Destiny and Stroke of Luck. She writes and edits for businesses and works with writers—especially self-publishing authors—to prepare their manuscripts for publication. Lillie lives in San Antonio, Texas with Jack, her husband of more than four decades. As a freelancer, Lillie works with authors and publishers to prepare manuscripts for publication; write and edit business documents; and help families and individuals compile family histories and memoirs. She especially enjoys helping self-publishing authors navigate the publishing maze and likes to think of herself as a book midwife. She can design the interior of the book, negotiate and contract with cover designers and printers, create and maintain the author’s Web site, and help with promotional activities, such as writing and distributing press releases. |

Marilee Anderson dreams about a murder and wakes to find it really happened. She and David Nichols, the victim’s brother, become the prime suspects. Though they have their secrets and aren’t sure they can trust each other, Marilee and David team up to find the killer.
Does Tess, “the crazy lady,” know anything about the murder or is she just delusional? Does the cheating couple on the victim’s floor have any information about the night of the crime? Why has the abusive father of the victim and her brother suddenly reappeared? What about Barbara’s ex-husband? Will Marilee and David find the killer? Or will they end up in jail—or dead?
“Lillie Ammann's unique talent brings her characters to life in this tension filled suspense. From the first paragraph she'll have your heart racing as Marilee's nightmare takes over her life and changes it forever.” ~ Diana Lesire Brandmeyer, author of A Time to Dance
“Lillie Ammann has written more than a book about two people trying to solve a crime. She delves into the effects of grief and guilt, attraction and suspicion, compassion and evil. “~ Helen Ginger, Freelance editor, book consultant, writer, and speaker

This is a wonderful story of healing and love. I am moved by Jake's sensitivity and the loving care he displayed towards Deb. Their relationship is tenderly depicted in wonderfully moving scenes. Clearly, the author understands the pain a stroke victim suffers. Deb's pain and anguish as well as her insecurities are so vividly portrayed that I am moved to tears more than once. Kudos to the author for tackling such a refreshingly original topic in a romance and doing it brilliantly and masterfully! This book is a must-read for all readers seeking something new yet emotionally powerful."
